Garmin Introduces Improved Delta XC Remote Dog Training Collars

In 2015, Garmin introduced an updated version of the Delta Series Remote Trainer. The new features on the Delta XC, Delta XC Sport and Delta XC Upland make this trainer a good choice for about 95% of dog owners. You can still run up to 3 dogs on the system and the warranty is one year.

Here's what's new.

Delta XC-$169.99

1. There are still 18 levels of stimulation range. The low and medium levels are the same but the highest levels are now stronger, designed with the persistent dog in mind. The low is still very low for sensitive dogs. That intensity level has not changed.

2. The collar strap is redesigned for a better fit on the dog.

3. Short and long contact points are included.

4. Quickly increase stimulation level up or down by holding the side button until you reach the desired intensity. No more clicking to change one level at a time.

Delta XC Sport-$219.99

1. 3/4 mile range.

2. Improved BarkLimiter-it still has the auto-rise feature but now also has a direct setting (level 1-18) and a vibration option. The bark feature is controlled from the transmitter and lets you set an option for each dog individually.

3. Lets you train and use the bark control at the same time.

4. There are still 36 levels of stimulation range. The low and medium levels are the same but the highest levels are now stronger, designed with the persistent dog in mind. The low is still very low for sensitive dogs. That intensity level has not changed.

The E-Collar

Garmin Delta

Garmin has been consistently one of the leaders in GPS technologies simply because they continually update their products at a pace that few other manufacturers can keep up with. When Garmin purchased Tri-Tronics- the grandfather of dog collars, they were sure to bring an update to the 8 year old model of the Tri-Tronics brand and they did. Yet, the new models keep the technology and ease of the Tri-Tronics trainer and add a host of new features that will entice many new dog owners to hop on board.

The Delta is the lower priced option of the two but still includes the three training options, tone, vibration and stimulation with the standard 3-button handheld transmitter. The system is expandable so you can train up to 3 dogs on one transmitter with additional collars (purchased separately). Long lasting rechargeable lithium batteries in the collar and handheld transmitter recharge in as little as 2 hours. With a ½ mile range, ergonomic design for one-hand use, rugged design and water resistance, it’s easy to see why it’s a great choice for dog owners.

Garmin Delta Sport

The Delta Sport is the next price category up and includes some great additional features for increased value. While still including all the features of the Delta, the Sport option includes a built in bark-limiter and extended range. The smart bark-limiter can tell the difference between scratching or scraping and your dogs bark. It also avoids false and over-correction of your dog because other dogs are barking and can be set to “autorise” to automatically reach the training level needed to eliminate unwanted barking. Extended range up to three-quarters of a mile ensures use in open spaces or large properties.
