The Healthy Pet Simply Feed Feeder can run on D size batteries but also has a place to add a power cord. Using the Power Adapter with the batteries gives you peace of mind.  You will know the unit is feeding even if the power fails because it will run on battery back-up. Replace your existing adapter or add the cord with the batteries. Plug one end into the Simply Feed and one end into a standard 110 V outlet.
